Mindanao, Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains due to easterlies


The northeast monsoon will be affecting northern and central Luzon while the easterlies will be affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Mindanao and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. In these areas, flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains brought about by the northeast monsoon and there may also be possible intermittent strong winds especially in coastal and mountainous areas.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.

The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms and the possibility that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast wind speed in northern section of northern Luzon is strong and moving northeast while coastal waters will be rough.

In the eastern section of the country, the forecast weather is moderate to strong and moving northeastward while coastal waters will remain moderate to rough.

The forecast wind speed for rest of the country  is light to moderate and moving in the northeast direction while coastal waters will also be light to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
