LPA to enter PAR over the weekend —meteorologist


A low-pressure area is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this coming weekend, according to GMA resident meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz on Friday.

Reporting on Unang Balita, Mang Tani said the LPA was located 1,950 kilometers east of Mindanao.

As of Friday morning, he said, the LPA had low chances of intensifying into a tropical cyclone and did not pose any direct effect to the country's weather.

A rainy Saturday, however, may be experienced over Cagayan Valley and some portions of Cordillera, Aurora, and other parts of northern Luzon.

Ilocos region and Zambales may also expect rains on Sunday.

On the other hand, Metro Manila is likely have the right amount of sunshine this weekend.

Meanwhile, the Visayas may also expect fair weather on Saturday and Sunday.

Mindanao, on the other hand, the Davao region and northern portion of Caraga region may expect light rains on Saturday afternoon.

By Sunday afternoon, the Zamboanga Peninsula and the Soccsksargen region may experience rain. —Dona Magsino/LBG, GMA News
