Cloudy skies, isolated light rains in Metro Manila due to northeast monsoon
The northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon on Friday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau also reports that at 3 a.m. on Friday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 285 kilometers east southeast of Davao City.
Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the trough of Low Pressure/Tail End of Cold Front.
PAGASA adds that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.
In Cagayan Valley, the Bicol Region, the provinces of Aurora and Quezon there will be cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought about by localized thunderstorms and flash floods or landslides may occur due to severe thunderstorms.
The forecast wind speed in the northern and eastern section of the country is moderate to strong moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
For the rest of the country, the wind speed forecast is moderate moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will remain moderate. — BAP, GMA News
