Cloudy skies, light rains in Metro Manila due to northeast monsoon

The northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon and Visayas on Friday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Cagayan Valley, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Panay Island will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the northeast monsoon.

Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought about by localized thunderstorms. The weather bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast wind speed in northern and southern Luzon, and the eastern section of the country is strong and moving northeastwar while coastal waters will be rough.

The forecast wind speed for the rest of the country is moderate to strong and moving northeastward while coastal waters remain moderate to rough.
