Cloudy skies, isolated light rains in Metro Manila due to northeast monsoon


The northeast monsoon or amihan will be affecting Luzon and the Visayas on Saturday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains brought about by the northeast monsoon.

The Visayas, Bicol Region, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and Romblon  will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon. The weather bureau warns that flash floods or landslides may occur due to scattered light to moderate rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

In Mindanao, residents will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought about by localized thunderstorms. So, flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast wind speed for the eastern section of the country and the rest of northern and southern Luzon  is strong and moving northeastward while coastal waters will be rough. — BAP, GMA News

For the rest of the country, wind speed forecast is moderate to strong moving in the northeast direction while coastal weaters will remain moderate to rough.
