PAGASA: Metro Manila, other areas to experience rains, thunderstorms

Easterlies, warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, and localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, PAGASA said Saturday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the state weather agency warned residents in affected areas of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA said that a ridge of a high-pressure area is extending over Northern and Central Luzon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at the Science Garden, Quezon City dropped to 25.8°C at 5:50 a.m. and peaked at 34.9°C at 3:05 p.m.

PAGASA also warned that moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Pampanga, Zambales, and Quezon within the next two hours.

Specific areas in Metro  Manila that will be affected by thunderstorms include Caloocan City, and Quezon City.

In its advisory, PAGASA said the weather conditions are being experienced in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Batangas, Cavite, and Tarlac as of posting time, which may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LBG, GMA News
