Cloudy skies, isolated rains forecast for most of the Philippines due to the easterlies


The easterlies will be affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao on Thursday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

The weather bureau is also monitoring a Low Pressure Area (LPA), which was estimated early Thursday morning at 510 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes or 595 km east northeast of Calayan, Cagayan.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies / localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for extreme northern Luzon is light to moderate moving southwestward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, wind speed forecast is light to moderate moving in the east to southeast direction.

For the rest of Luzon, wind speed is light to moderate moving in the southeast to south direction.

The coastal waters in the country is forecast to be slight to moderate.

Meanwhile, sunrise will be at 5:26 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:23 p.m. -- BAP, GMA News
