ITCZ to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over Bicol, Visayas, Mindanao, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon


An Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday, PAGASA reported.

With the ITCZ, Bicol Region, Visayas, Mindanao, Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm. The weather bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorm with the possibility that flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA continues to monitor the Tropical Depression, which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

The weather system is estimate 1,740 kilometers east northeast of extreme northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph moving westward at 20 kph.

The wind speed forecast in Luzon is moderate moving in the east to southeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, wind speed is light to moderate moving in the east to southeast direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
