Cloudy skies, scattered rains in parts of Luzon due to Tail-end of a Frontal System, trough of LPA

A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was sighted near Albay, the Tail-end of a Frontal System (Shear Line) and the northeast monsoon will be affecting many provinces in Luzon on Thursday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

As of 3 a.m. on Thursday, the LPA was estimated to be in the vicinity of Poblacion, Albay while the Tail-end of a Frontal System (Shear Line) will be affecting the eastern section of northern and central Luzon, and the northeast monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon.

Cagayan Valley, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the provinces of Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the Tail-end of a Frontal System and the Trough of the LPA with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms with the possibility of flashfloods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon and Visayas is moderate to strong moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will remain moderate to rough.

Mindanao will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the northwest to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The sun will rise by 6:06 a.m. and set by 5:25 p.m. -- BAP, GMA News
