Cloudy skies, scattered rains over parts of Mindanao, Visayas due to Trough of LPA


At 3 a.m. on Thursday, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 820 kilometers east of Davao City as the northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, SOCCSKSARGEN and Davao Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the Trough of LPA with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Wind speed forecast for Luzon, Visayas, and eastern section of Mindanao is moderate to strong moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters remain slight to moderate.
