Southwest Monsoon to continue to bring rains over most parts of the country

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will again bring rains to most parts of the country on Sunday, PAGASA said in its early morning advisory.

The monsoon is enhanced by Typhoon In-Fa (formerly known as Fabian) and Tropical Storm Nepartak, which are both outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Calamian Islands will have monsoon rains.

Cagayan Valley, Antique, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the monsoon.

The rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Habagat.

PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may occur in all the above areas due to moderate or heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be moderate to strong in Luzon and Visayas, with waves reaching up to 4 meters.

In Mindanao, coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
