NCR, rest of country to have isolated rains due to trough of typhoon outside PAR

The National Capital Region and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers on Monday due to the trough of Typhoon Mindulle and localized thunderstorms, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Mindulle is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and at 3 a.m. was located 1,600 km east of Extreme Northern Luzon.

The typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h, gustiness of up to 230 km/h. Mindulle is moving north northwestward at 10 km/h and is expected to enter PAR on Tuesday. Once inside PAR, the typhoon will be renamed Lannie.

Mindulle's trough or extension is affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
