PAGASA: Cloudy skies, rain showers over Metro Manila, parts of Luzon due to frontal system

A frontal system on Tuesday will be affecting parts of extreme Northern Luzon, while a southwesterly surface windflow will be in sections of Northern and Central Luzon, weather bureau PAGASA said.

Based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the frontal system. This may result in possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bataan, Pampanga, Zambales, Bulacan, and the rest of Ilocos Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought by the southwesterly surface windflow.

Possible flash floods or landslides caused by moderate to at times heavy rains may occur due to this, the weather bureau warned.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will have cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms is also possible.

Further, the wind speed forecast for extreme Northern Luzon is moderate to strong, while the coastal water conditions will be moderate to rough ranging from 1.2 to 2.8 meters.

The rest of Luzon and of the country will also experience light to moderate wind speed, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.—Giselle Ombay/LDF, GMA News
