PAGASA: LPA, Habagat to bring rains across the country
A low pressure area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat are expected to bring rains across the country, PAGASA said Monday.
According to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, the LPA was located 305 kilometers east northeast of Legazpi City, Albay or 345 kilometers east of Daet Camarines Norte at 3 p.m.
The Visayas, Caraga, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA and Habagat, the weather bureau said.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, it added.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains while residents were warned against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
PAGASA said wind speed forecast for Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao is moderate to strong, while coastal water conditions will be moderate to rough, ranging from 1.2 to 2.8 meters.
It added that light to moderate wind speeds will be experienced in the rest of the country, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters. — Mel Matthew Doctor/RSJ, GMA News
