Karding is moving west southwestward at 25 km/h.

From Karding's center, strong to typhoon-force winds are extending outwards up to 290 km.

Rainfall

From Sunday morning to early afternoon, Isabela, Polillo Islands, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Isabela will have moderate to heavy rains. Mainland Cagayan, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, and the rest of Bicol Region meanwhile will have light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Starting Sunday early afternoon up to Monday early morning, heavy to intense with at times torrential rains will pour over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, Rizal, and the northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands. Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains meanwhile are expected in Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Benguet, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Pangasinan, Cavite, Laguna, the central portion of Quezon, and Camarines Norte. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains on the other hand are forecast over the Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, and the rest of Calabarzon and Bicol Region.

From early Monday morning up to early afternoon, heavy to intense with at times torrential rains are expected in Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, and Bulacan. Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains meanwhile will pour over Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Cavite, Occidental Mindoro, and the rest of Central Luzon. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains on the other hand are expected in Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Oriental Mindoro, and the rest of Calabarzon.

PAGASA said scattered to widespread flooding and rain-induced landslides may occur especially in areas prone to these hazards and in localities with significant antecedent rainfall.

Karding is also enhancing the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). Thus, occasional to monsoon rains may possibly occur in Visayas and the rest of Luzon, especially the western sections.

Winds

PAGASA said it may have to raise TCWS No. 4 or 5.

As Karding passes, areas under TCWS No. 3 may have winds reaching storm-force in strength.

Areas under TCWS No. 2 meanwhile may have gale-force winds, while strong winds (strong breeze to near gale strength) may be experienced in areas under TCWS No. 1.

Coastal inundation

"The combined effects of storm surge and high waves breaking along the coast may cause inundation or flooding over the moderate to high-risk coastal areas of Aurora, Quezon (east coast, including Polillo Islands), and Camarines Norte," PAGASA said.

Coastal waters

A marine gale warning is in effect over the eastern and western seaboards of Luzon.

Areas not under any gale warning and the western seaboard of Visayas, meanwhile, will have moderate to rough seas due to Karding and the Habagat.

"These conditions may be risky for those using small seacrafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions," PAGASA said.

Track, intensity

Karding is forecast to move generally west southwestward or westward in the next six to 12 hours.

Then it will head westward or northwestward for the remainder of Sunday.

After making landfall on Sunday night over the northern portion of Quezon or the southern portion of Aurora, Karding will cross the landmass of Central Luzon on Sunday night until Monday early morning.

It will then emerge over the West Philippine Sea via the coastal waters of Zambales or Pangasinan.

From there, Karding will continue generally westward over the West Philippine Sea for the remainder of the forecast period.

Although Karding may weaken on Sunday evening until Monday early morning as it traverses the Luzon landmass, it is highly likely that it will remain a typhoon as it crosses the landmass.

PAGASA advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to take the necessary measures to protect life and property.

It urged persons living in areas prone to hazards to follow evacuation and other instructions given by local officials.

PAGASA said it will issue the next bulletin at 8 a.m.
