LPA to bring rain over Visayas, Mindanao; Amihan to affect Luzon


The Low Pressure Area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies, isolated rain over most of the Visayas, Mindanao while the northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to affect Luzon on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

At 3 a.m. on Thursday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 390 kilometers north of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or 125 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Eastern Visayas, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Dinagat Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the LPA with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

MIMAROPA and the rest of Visayas, Mindanao, and Bicol Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the LPA and localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon but with no significant impact.

Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
