PAGASA SAYS

Thunderstorms, rains to persist on All Souls' Day

Rains will continue to persist in most parts of the country on Thursday, All Souls' Day, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

In its morning advisory, PAGASA said that the shear line, Northeast Monsoon or Amihan, and localized thunderstorms will bring thunderstorms and rains over the country.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected in Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon due to the shear line.

Cloudy skies with rains may be experienced over the rest of Ilocos, the rest of Cordillera, and the rest of Cagayan Region due to Amihan.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected in Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.

The shear line was affecting the eastern sections of Northern Luzon and Central Luzon, while Amihan was affecting the rest of Northern and Central Luzon, PAGASA said.

For wind conditions, moderate to strong winds may be felt in Northern and Central Luzon, and light to moderate winds over the rest of the country.

For coastal water conditions, moderate to rough water conditions of up to 3.1 meters may be experienced over Northern and Central Luzon, and light to moderate conditions of up to 2.1 meters over the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains as well as severe thunderstorms. —Joviland Rita/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
