LPA to bring rains over Palawan

At 3 a.m. on Thursday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 395 kilometers west southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan with the northeast monsoon (amihan) affecting Extreme Northern Luzon, PAGASA reported.

Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batanes and Cagayan including Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeast to east direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise will be at 5:54 a.m., sunset at 5:25 p.m. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
