Metro Manila experiences coldest temperature yet for 2024


The temperature in Metro Manila dropped to 20.1°C on Thursday morning, the lowest recorded in the metropolis so far this year. 

State weather bureau PAGASA made the finding at the Science Garden in Quezon City around 5 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, according to a Balitanghali report on GTV. 

PAGASA also logged the lowest temperature in the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) season in La Trinidad, Benguet at 10.8°C. 

Other recorded temperatures in Luzon were as follows:

  • Baguio City: 13°C
  • Basco, Batanes:v17.4°C
  • Casiguran, Aurora:v18°C
  • Tanay, Rizal:18.1°C

PAGASA said the Amihan would still affect Luzon and Visayas in the coming days.—RF, GMA Integrated News
