Metro Manila, rest of PH to have cloudy skies, isolated rain showers

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms on Sunday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

This is due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms, it added.

Flash floods or landslides may result during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.

Sunrise was at 5:32 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:14 p.m.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said that the heat index could reach the ''danger'' level in 16 locations on Sunday.

In its forecast, the weather bureau said these areas may expect heat index as follows:

PAGASA defines heat index as the measure of the temperature that a person feels, which is different from the actual air temperature. It is computed by factoring in the humidity and the air temperature.

In areas experiencing a danger level heat index, which is from 42°C to 51°C, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, according to PAGASA. Heat stroke is also possible with continued exposure.

PAGASA advised the public to:

  • Limit the time spent outdoors
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Avoid tea, coffee, soda and liquor
  • Wear umbrellas, hats, and sleeved clothing outdoors
  • Schedule heavy-duty activities for the beginning or end of the day when it's cooler.
