Yellow rainfall warning up in parts of Central Luzon
State weather bureau PAGASA on Thursday afternoon raised the yellow rainfall warning over Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, and Pampanga.
Under a yellow rainfall warning, heavy rainfall of 7.5 to 15 mm is expected in an hour that can last up to two hours.
Residents are warned of possible flooding in flood-prone areas.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said light to moderate occasional heavy rains may persist in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, and Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Real) and nearby areas within three hours.
In its 11 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin, PAGASA said Typhoon Carina is less likely to directly bring heavy rainfall over the country.
Carina has also enhanced the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, which may bring heavy rainfall over Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Benguet.
Carina has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility but Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remained hoisted over Batanes. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
