Heat index: No areas in ‘danger level’ category forecast for March 11, 2025
No areas in the country are likely to have a heat index in the “danger level” on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, PAGASA said Monday.
The heat index is the measure of the temperature that a person feels in contrast to the actual air temperature. Essentially, it measures "human discomfort" and is the "apparent temperature" felt by the human body. It is computed by factoring in the humidity as well as the air temperature.
A heat index between 42°C and 51°C is considered in the “danger” category, posing health risks such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Based on its 5 p.m. March 10 bulletin, the state weather bureau said the highest heat index expected on Tuesday is 41°C in Zambaonga City, Zamboanga del Sur; Catbalogan, Western Samar; and Masbate City, Masbate.
Meanwhile, in Metro Manila, a 39°C temperature is expected to be measured at the NAIA Pasay City synoptic station, while that in Science Garden, Quezon City will measure a heat index of 38°C.
A heat index from 33°C to 41°C is under the “extreme caution” category, where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible, and continuing activity could lead to heat stroke.
PAGASA also said earlier that while the Philippines is expected to experience hotter temperatures in the next months, the weather will not be as extreme as it was in 2024. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
