42°C heat index expected in Puerto Princesa on March 20, 2025


A “danger level” heat index is expected to be felt anew in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on Thursday, PAGASA said in a forecast.

A heat index between 42°C and 51°C is under the “danger” category, which poses health risks such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Based on its 5 p.m. March 19 bulletin, PAGASA said Puerto Princesa may experience a heat index of 42°C on Thursday.

 


The heat index measures how hot it feels to the human body, factoring in humidity along with the actual air temperature.

In Metro Manila, NAIA Pasay City will see a heat index of 36°C, while Science Garden Quezon City will experience 35°C.

On Wednesday, Puerto Princesa, Palawan endured a 42°C heat index.

The state weather bureau has urged the public to limit outdoor activity, remain hydrated, and wear fresh clothes to avoid heat-related illnesses. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
