ITCZ to keep bringing rains over southern Mindanao

Scattered rains will persist over southern Mindanao in the next 24 hours due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

In its 5 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said the affected areas are BARMM, Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, Lanao del Norte, and Misamis Occidental.

The ITCZ is predicted to also bring the same weather conditions over Palawan.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will observe partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

These severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists also said the whole country will experience light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:47 a.m. on Tuesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
