17 areas to face ‘danger level’ heat index on Wednesday, April 30, 2025

A “danger level” heat index is expected in 17 areas on Wednesday, April 30, PAGASA said in its latest forecast.

According to the state weather bureau’s 5 p.m. April 29 bulletin, the synoptic stations in the following areas will measure a 42°C-47°C heat index, classified as danger level:

• Bacnotan, La Union
• Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo City
• Sangley Point, Cavite City, Cavite
• Cuyo, Palawan
• CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur

42°C

• NAIA, Pasay City
• ISU Echague, Isabela
• Iba, Zambales
• Clark Airport (DMIA), Pampanga
• Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas
• San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
• Daet, Camarines Norte
• Legazpi City, Albay
• Masbate City, Masbate
• Roxas City, Capiz

PAGASA also advised the public to limit the time outside, drink lots of water, and use umbrella or wear a hat to protect oneself from the heat.

The Office of Civil Defense has activated its emergency response protocols, prompting its regional offices to be alert and working closely with local authorities to provide immediate assistance and ensure public safety amid the dangerous heat index. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
