Metro Manila, 7 Luzon provinces experience heavy to intense rains

Metro Manila and seven provinces in Luzon experienced heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds Friday afternoon.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 2:32 p.m., state weather bureau PAGASA said aside from the National Capital Region, the other affected areas are: 

  • Rizal (Binangonan, Morong, Teresa, Angono, Antipolo, Taytay, Cainta, San Mateo, Baras, Cardona, Tanay), 
  • Quezon (Lucena, Tayabas, Sariaya, Guinayangan, Buenavista, Catanauan, General Luna, Macalelon, Gumaca, Lopez, Calauag), 
  • Laguna (San Pablo, Cabuyao, Calamba), 
  • Batangas (Lipa, Mataasnakahoy, Balete, Tanauan, Talisay, Laurel, Lemery, Agoncillo, Taal, Santa Teresita, San Nicolas, Cuenca, Alitagtag), 
  • Cavite (Indang, Alfonso, Mendez, Tagaytay, Silang, Amadeo), 
  • Nueva Ecija(General Tinio, Palayan, Penaranda, Santa Rosa, San Leonardo), and Zambales (Botolan, Iba, Palauig).

It said the weather condition may persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are expected over Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Bataan within the next two hours.

PAGASA advised affected residents take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
