LPA, Habagat to bring rains over several areas
A low pressure area (LPA) located east of Quezon and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring rains over several areas in the country on Sunday, according to PAGASA's weather forecast.
Bicol Region, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA. Flash floods or landslides may possibly result due to moderate to heavy rains.
PAGASA said Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate may have 50 to 100 mm amount of rainfall today.
Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, the rest of Visayas, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of CALABARZON, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon affecting the western section of the country. Moderate to heavy rains may possibly cause flash floods or landslides.
Moderate to heavy rains measuring around 50 to 100 mm are forecast today for Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental.
At 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated to be located at 115 km north of Virac, Catanduanes or 285 km east of Infanta, Quezon.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.
Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
