LPA, easterlies to bring cloudy skies, rains over some parts of PH

A low pressure area (LPA) over the coastal waters of Corcuera, Romblon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms on Tuesday, while the easterlies will affect the eastern part of the country, PAGASA said.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, and Bulacan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

"Sa ngayon mababa pa rin ang tsansa nitong maging isang bagyo at sa susunod na mga araw, inaasahan na matutunaw din ito," PAGASA weather specialist Glaiza Escullar said in an interview on Unang Balita.

(For now, [the LPA] still has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression, and in the coming days, we expect that the [LPA] will dissipate.)

The weather disturbance is expected to be in the West Philippine Sea by Thursday, and by then it has dissipated as an LPA, she added.

Isabela, Quirino, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.

Visayas and Mindanao may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for the whole country is light to moderate moving in the southeast to south direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
