Yellow rainfall warning up over NCR, 9 other areas

State weather bureau PAGASA issued a yellow rainfall warning for Metro Manila and nine other areas on Sunday morning due to the heavy rains expected from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

The yellow rainfall warning, issued at 8 a.m., covers the following areas:

  • Zambales
  • Tarlac
  • Pampanga
  • Bataan
  • Bulacan
  • Metro Manila
  • Cavite
  • Rizal
  • Batangas (Balayan, Tuy, Nasugbu, Lian, Calatagan)
  • Laguna (Calamba, Binan, San Pedro, Santa Rosa, Cabuyao)

 

With the yellow rainfall warning, residents were advised that flooding may occur in flood-prone areas.

This also means that heavy rainfall of 7.5 to 15 mm may be expected in an hour, which is seen to continue for the next two hours.

Residents are advised to monitor the news for further updates. 

Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains meanwhile may be expected over Nueva Ecija and Quezon within the next 3 hours, PAGASA said.

On the other hand, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are currently affecting Laguna (Alaminos, Bay, Calauan, Liliw, Los Banos, Luisiana, Magdalena, Majayjay, Nagcarlan, Pagsanjan, Pila, Rizal, San Pablo, Santa Cruz, Victoria, Cavinti, Famy, Kalayaan, Lumban, Mabitac, Paete, Pakil, Pangil, Santa Maria, Siniloan) and Batangas (Agoncillo, Alitagtag, Balete, Batangas City, Bauan, Calaca, Tanauan, Cuenca, Ibaan, Laurel, Lemery, Lipa, Lobo, Mabini, Malvar, Mataasnakahoy, Padre Garcia, Rosario, San Jose, San Juan, San Luis, San Nicolas, San Pascual, Santa Teresita, Santo Tomas, Taal, Talisay, Taysan, Tingloy).
