‘Low’ chance of LPA inside PAR becoming tropical depression in 24 hours
There is a "low" chance that a low pressure area (LPA) being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility will develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday evening.
In a 10 p.m. advisory, the state weather bureau said that the LPA is located 695 km east of Virac, Catanduanes as of 8 p.m. Sunday.
In a separate weather advisory issued later, PAGASA said the following areas could experience 50-100 mm of rainfall from tonight (Sunday night) to tomorrow evening (Monday, September 1) due to the LPA:
- Quezon
- Camarines Norte
- Camarines Sur
- Catanduanes
- Albay
- Sorsogon
- Masbate
- Northern Samar
These areas, meanwhile could experience 50-100 mm of rainfall from tonight (Sunday night) to tomorrow evening (Monday, September 1) due to the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
- Occidental Mindoro
- Palawan
- Antique
PAGASA classifies this amount of rainfall as "moderate to heavy." — BM, GMA Integrated News
