Habagat to bring isolated rains over parts of Luzon
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon on Sunday and will bring isolated rain showers, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.
The easterlies meanwhile will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country on the other hand may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may result in flash floods or landslides.
Coastal waters will be moderate in the western section of Northern Luzon, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country.
Sunrise was at 5:44 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:04 p.m.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Tapah (formerly called Lannie when it was still inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR) was last estimated to be located at 3 a.m. at 640 km west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
Tapah has maximum sustained winds or 75 km/h near the center and with gustiness of up to 9 km/h.
The storm is moving west northwestward at 15 km/h. —KG, GMA Integrated News
