Heavy to intense rains affect parts of Metro Manila, 4 Luzon provinces

Parts of Metro Manila and four Luzon provinces experienced heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds before noon Monday. 

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 11:49 a.m., state weather bureau PAGASA said the following areas are affected by the bad weather: 

  • Metro Manila (Malabon, Valenzuela, Caloocan, Quezon City, Manila, Makati, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Pasig, Marikina, Pateros, Navotas), 
  • Bulacan (Santa Maria, Marilao, Bocaue, Meycauayan, Obando, Bulakan), 
  • Batangas (San Pascual, Alitagtag, Tingloy, Mabini), 
  • Quezon (Panukulan, Patnanungan, Burdeos, Unisan, Pitogo, Macalelon, Gumaca, Buenavista, Tagkawayan, Guinayangan) and 
  • Rizal (Antipolo, Cainta, Taytay, San Mateo).

It may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.

Heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds are also expected over Laguna, Cavite, Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, Zambales, and Nueva Ecija within the next two hours.

Affected residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
