LPA near Coron, Palawan unlikely to become cyclone in 24 hours — PAGASA
A low pressure area was spotted near Coron, Palawan on Thursday morning, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
PAGASA said that as of 8 a.m., the LPA was "unlikely" to turn into a tropical depression very soon.
"A Low Pressure Area (LPA 10c) is also being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and is 'UNLIKELY to develop into a Tropical Depression within the next 24 hours," PAGASA said in a bulletin.
"All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA," it added.
The LPA was last located 180 kms west northwest of Coron, Palawan, according to PAGASA.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said a tropical storm (international name: Nakri) was still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It was last seen about 1,445 kms east northeast of extreme northern Luzon.
Nakri was packing winds of 75 kph and gustiness of 90 kph, PAGASA added. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
