LPA to bring rains to parts of Luzon

Cloudy skies and scattered rains will persist in some areas in Luzon due to the low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.

Based on the state weather bureau’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, the affected areas are Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Isabela, Aurora, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Bataan, and Camarines Norte.

The LPA was located 130 kilometers east southeast of Baler, Aurora.

PAGASA said the LPA is "unlikely" to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Visayas, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Bicol Region.

The same weather condition is expected to be observed in Mindanao and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.

Extreme Northern Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeasterly windflow, with no significant impact.

At 2 p.m., PAGASA spotted an LPA outside PAR, which has a "medium" possibility of becoming a storm.

It was located 1,770 km east of Northeastern Mindanao.
State meteorologists also said winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:47 a.m. on Wednesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
