ITCZ, other weather systems bring rain, cloudy skies over PH as LPA moves away

Multiple weather systems continue to bring rain and cloudy skies over parts of the Philippines on Friday even as the Low Pressure Area (LPA) that was formerly the Tropical Storm Salome moves away from the country.

In its 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4:00 a.m. on Friday, PAGASA said that at 3:00 AM today, the LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 270 km West of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (18.3°N, 118.0°E).

The state weather bureau said the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is affecting Mindanao and Palawan.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the Shear Line.

It warned the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Negros Island Region, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and Palawan.

Similar conditions will also be experienced in Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte due to the Easterlies.

The rest of Mindanao will have Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Sunrise today is at 5:49 a.m. while sunset will be at 5:31 p.m. —RF, GMA Integrated News
