Cloudy skies, rains expected as ITCZ covers most parts of PH
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) are expected to bring rains to various parts of the Philippines, the state weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.
According to the 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 p.m., the ITCZ is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Masbate.
Likewise, the ITCZ is also forecast to cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan and the rest of Mindanao.
Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with rains due to Amihan.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms because of the easterlies.
PAGASA also warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy rains or thunderstorms caused by the three weather systems.
Winds will be moderate to strong and coastal waters will be moderate to rough in extreme Northern Luzon.
The rest of the country will expect light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:51 a.m. on Wednesday. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/VBL, GMA Integrated News
