ITCZ, Monsoon to bring gray skies, rain all over PH


The  Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao while the Northeast Monsoon will affect Extreme Northern Luzon on Friday.

In its weather forecast issued at 4:00 a.m. Friday, PAGASA said the ITCZ will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Davao Region, and Lanao del Norte.

Similar conditions are also expected in Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora due to the ITCZ. The public is cautioned for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms caused by the Shear Line is the forecast for Batanes.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in the Bicol Region, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao.

The rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

Wind speed will range from Moderate to Strong while wind direction is from Northeast to East.

Sunrise today will be at  5:51 a.m. and sunset is expected at 5:28 p.m. —RF, GMA Integrated News
