25 areas in Luzon, Visayas warned of heavy rainfall due to Fung-Wong


Twenty-five areas in Luzon and the Visayas are expected to experience heavy rainfall on Sunday in the latest heavy advisory issued by state meteorologists on Friday morning.

In its Heavy Rainfall Outlook issued at Issued at 5 a.m. on November  7, PAGASA identified these areas as:

Sunday (November 9)

(100-200 mm):

  • Isabela,
  • Aurora,
  • Quezon,
  • Camarines Norte,
  • Camarines Sur,
  • Catanduanes

(50-100 mm):

  • Apayao,
  • Kalinga,
  • Mountain Province,
  • Ifugao,
  • Batanes,
  • Cagayan,
  • Quirino,
  • Nueva Vizcaya,
  • Nueva Ecija,
  • Bulacan,
  • Rizal,
  • Laguna,
  • Albay,
  • Sorsogon,
  • Masbate,
  • Northern Samar,
  • Eastern Samar,
  • Samar,
  • Biliran

“Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,” the state weather bureau said.

“The public disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. PAGASA Regional Services Divisions may issue Heavy Rainfall Warnings/Thunderstorm Advisories, and other severe weather information specific to their areas of responsibility as appropriate,” it added.

Fung-Wong has intensified into a severe tropical storm while the Northeast Monsoon is affecting Extreme Northeastern Luzon on the early morning of Friday. —RF, GMA Integrated News
