Uwan weakens into tropical storm, Signal No. 1 up in two areas
Tropical Cyclone Uwan (international name Fung-wong) has weakened into a tropical storm outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), state weather bureau PAGASA said on Wednesday morning.
“As of 8:00 a.m. today, 12 November 2025, ‘Uwan’ (international name ‘Fung-wong’) has weakened into a tropical storm and is still being monitored outside the PAR,” PAGASA said in an update.
Meanwhile, two areas remain under Signal No. 1, according to PAGASA's 11 a.m. weather advisory.
- Batanes
- Babuyan Islands (Calayan Is., Dalupiri Is., Fuga Is.)

Uwan was last spotted 265 kilometers west northwest of Itbayat, Batanes outside PAR with maximum sustained winds of 85 km per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph.
The tropical storm was moving northeastward slowly.
"UWAN will continue to weaken due to unfavorable conditions and land interaction upon making landfall in Taiwan, until it eventually weakens into a remnant low by Friday (14 November)," PAGASA said.
"UWAN is forecast to move generally northeastward, re-entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this afternoon before making landfall over the Southern Taiwan by this evening," it added.
