Cebu Pacific resumes flights to Ormoc

Cebu Pacific Air on Friday announced that it has resumed regular flights to and from Ormoc City, Leyte.

The budget carrier suspended its operations in the city after a 6.5-magnitude earthquake hit Jaro, Leyte last week.

In an advisory, Cebu Pacific said CebGo flights to and from Ormoc City resumed on Friday, July 14, 2017.

Cebgo flies daily between Cebu and Ormoc, with the Cebu-Ormoc flight departing at 6:35 a.m; and the return flight leaving Ormoc at 7:40 a.m.

"Cebgo resumed operations following a risk assessment at the Ormoc Airport, in cooperation with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), after a magnitude 6.5 earthquake jolted the island of Leyte last July 6," the airline said.

"Cebu Pacific extends its thanks to CAAP for the expedient action to get the Ormoc Airport back to operational status as soon as possible," it added.

Passengers booked on cancelled Cebgo flights between Cebu and Ormoc from July 6 to 13 may rebook their flights free of charge.

"They may visit www.cebupacificair.com, or call the reservation hotlines (+632)7020-888 or (+6332)230-8888. They may also message Cebu Pacific through CEB’s official Twitter (@CebuPacificAir) and Facebook pages," the airline said. —NB, GMA News
