Meralco sets power outages in parts of Luzon from April 7 to 12
Several areas in Bulacan, Pampanga, Quezon City, and Laguna will experience scheduled power interruptions from April 7 to 12 due to ongoing maintenance and upgrade works, according to Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
In an advisory, Meralco said the temporary outages are necessary to facilitate line reconstruction, installation of new facilities, and system improvements aimed at ensuring more stable electricity service.
Scheduled power interruptions:
April 7 (12:01 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.)
- Areas: Parts of Pampanga (Candaba) and Bulacan (San Ildefonso)
- Affected areas: Portions of Malipampang–Calasag–Calawitan Road from Barangay Malipampang to Barangay Pangclara; several puroks, streets, industrial facilities, and Calawitan National High School
- Reason: Line reconstruction works
April 8 (8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)
- Area: Quezon City (Barangay Don Manuel, Mabuhay area)
- Affected area: Portion of Nicanor Ramirez Street from Cordillera Street to Sampaloc Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Reason: Line reconductoring, facility replacement, and installation of lightning protection devices
April 8–9 (11:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.)
- Area: Quezon City (Kamuning and Sacred Heart)
- Affected areas: Portions of Kamuning Road, 11th Jamboree Street, and nearby areas
- Reason: Facility replacement and line reconductoring works
April 9 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
- Area: Calamba City (Barangay II – Tibag)
- Affected areas: Portions of Tibag Road, including nearby subdivisions and sitios
- Reason: Installation and replacement of electrical facilities
April 12 (10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., with specific intervals)
- Areas: Bulacan (Sta. Maria and Norzagaray)
- Affected areas: Portions of Balasing–San Jose Road, residential sitios, industrial parks, and nearby communities
- Reason: Installation of new electrical facilities
Meralco advised affected customers to plan ahead and take necessary precautions during the scheduled outages.
The company assured the public that the electricity service would be restored immediately upon completion of the maintenance works.
The utility firm added that the upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to improve service reliability and reduce unexpected power interruptions.—MCG, GMA News
