PHLPost: SM Manila post office now offers same day release of postal IDs

Filipinos may now apply for their postal ID cards and get it the same day at the Philippine Postal Corporation’s (PHLPost) branch at the Government Express Center at the fifth floor of SM City Manila.

In a statement on Monday, PHLPost said the cut-off for same-day processing is from 11 a.m. to noon.

Applications submitted beyond the cut-off will be scheduled for next-day release.

Postal ID cards are released daily at 4 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

Applicants must personally appear and submit a duly accomplished application form and one valid proof of identity and proof of address.

The accepted IDs are:

• A birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
• National ID
• UMID
• Driver’s license
• Passport, or
• Any government-issued ID with photo and signature.

A proof of address may be a utility bill, lease contract, or similar documents.

Processing fees for postal IDs are set at P550 for regular processing and P650 for rush processing. — JMA, GMA News
