NLEX ADVISORY: Libtong Exit, Sta. Rita and Pulilan northbound entries closed; heavy traffic in some areas (Tuesday, 10 a.m.)

One exit and two entries at the North Luzon Expressway were closed Tuesday morning, while heavy traffic is expected in some areas due to flooding.

According to an advisory from NLEX Corporation, here are the road and traffic conditions along the highway as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026:

Northbound

  • Libtong exit - temporarily closed due to flooding at the local road
  • Sta. Rita northbound entry - temporarily closed to all vehicle classes
  • Pulilan northbound entry - temporarily closed to all vehicle classes
  • Candaba viaduct - passable to all types of vehicles; heavy traffic
  • Tulaoc (San Simon) - lane 1 passable to all types of vehicles, lane 2 passable to Class 2 and 3 vehicles, lane 3 not passable; water buildup in all lanes due to rising water levels in the Pampanga River; heavy traffic
  • San Simon Interchange - lane 1 passable to Class 2 and 3 vehicles; lane 3 not passable to Class 1 vehicles; water buildup in all lanes due to rising water levels in the Pampanga River; heavy traffic

Southbound

  • Balintawak - passable to all types of vehicles; light traffic
  • Valenzuela - passable to all types of vehicles; light traffic
  • Meycauayan - passable to all types of vehicles; light traffic
  • Tulaoc (San Simon) - lane 1 passable to all types of vehicles, lane 2 passable to Class 2 and 3 vehicles, lane 3 not passable; water build up in all lanes due to rising water levels in the Pampanga River; heavy traffic
  • San Simon Interchange - lane 1 passable to Class 2 and 3 vehicles, lanes 2 and 3 not passable; water buildup in all lanes due to rising water levels in the Pampanga River; heavy traffic

In a 9 a.m. advisory, NLEX Corporation said that Class 1 vehicles traveling northbound are being diverted to Balagtas exit and advised to proceed to Maharlika Road toward the Central Luzon Link Expressway due to the rising water level of the Pampanga River.

It added that the Balagtas northbound entry is temporarily closed for class 1 vehicles while Class 2 and 3 vehicles may continue.

NLEX Corporation added that Sta. Rita and Pulilan northbound entries are temporarily closed to all types of vehicles. —AOL, GMA News
