MMDA releases updated 'Traslacion 2020' route

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Friday released an updated Black Nazarene "Traslacion" route for the January 9 religious procession.

Based on the MMDA route map, the traditional religious procession will begin at the Quirino Grandstand and end at the Quiapo Church.

As indicated in the route map, the procession is 300 meters shorter than the usual procession stretch. This is due to renovation activities being undertaken on Jones and MacArthur Bridges, police and Quiapo church officials said.

According to a "Quick Response Team" report last Thursday, the procession will pass through the Ayala Bridge instead of Jones Bridge. There will also be additional prayer stations for devotees participating in the Traslacion this year.
