Tomas Morato Avenue, nearby streets closed on March 23 —QC gov't


The Quezon City government announced Friday that Tomas Morato Avenue and some streets near it will be closed Saturday afternoon in connection with the celebration of the International Women’s Month.

In a post on its social media account, the Quezon City government advised motorists to avoid the area and follow the rerouting plan.

The Kababaihan Festival 2024, a street dance competition will be held in the area. It will be attended by Mayor Joy Belmonte and other city officials.

The following roads will be closed to traffic from 2:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., March 23:

  • Scout Tuason/Scout Limbaga
  • Scout Tuason/Scout Fuentebella
  • Scout Tuason/Dr. Lazcano
  • Scout Torillo/Scout Rallos
  • Scout Torillo/Scout Fernandez
  • Scout Torillo/Scout Gandia
  • Scout Torillo/Scout De Guia
  • Scout Torillo/Scout Delgado
  • Scout Torillo/Scout Castor
  • Stretch of Tomas Morato Avenue from Timog Avenue up to Don Roces Avenue.

The following roads will be temporarily converted as public parking:

  • Scout Limbaga
  • Scout Fernandez
  • Scout Fuentebella
  • Scout Gandia
  • Scout De Guia
  • Scout Delgado
  • Scout Lozano
  • Scout Castor.

Timog Avenue, on the other hand, will be open to traffic.

Motorists from Kamuning Road going to Quezon Avenue are advised to turn left to Don Roces Avenue, turn right at Scout Reyes, and straight ahead to Quezon Avenue.

Those from Tomas Morato Avenue (Scout Albano) going to Timog Avenue/EDSA should turn left to Scout Borromeo, turn right at Sgt. Esguerra, and turn left at Timog Avenue.

Motorists from Timog Avenue (Quezon Avenue) going to EDSA are advised to turn left at Scout Tuason, turn right at Scout Madriñan, turn right at Sgt. Esguerra, and turn left at Timog Avenue.

Those going to Kamuning Road from Timog Avenue (Quezon Avenue) should turn right at Scout Tuason, turn left at Don Alejandro Roces Avenue, turn right at Tomas Morato Avenue, and turn left at Kamuning Road.

Those from Timog Avenue (EDSA) going to Kamuning Road should turn left at Scout Torillo and straight ahead to destination.

Personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) and Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) will be deployed to assist the public.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
