More alternate routes for EDSA-Kamuning SB flyover closure given

Motorists have more alternate routes to choose from when the southbound portion of the EDSA-Kamuning flyover is closed for six months beginning May 1, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

For those coming from north EDSA or Caloocan, motorists may turn right on West Avenue or Panay Avenue or Mother Ignacia Avenue or Eugenio Lopez Jr. Drive or Scout Borromeo then use the MMDA Mabuhay Lane as follows:

Route 1

• From EDSA, turn right at West Avenue
• right at Quezon Avenue
• U-turn near Sct. Magbanua
• right at Timog
• right at Tomas Morato
• right at E. Rodriguez
• left at Gilmore
• straight to Granada
• right to Santolan Road or right at N. Domingo
• left at Pinaglabanan
• right at P. Guevarra
• left at L. Mencias
• right at Shaw Blvd.
• left at Acacia Lane
• right at F. Ortigas
• left at P. Cruz
• left at F. Blumentritt
• left at Coronado
• take Mandaluyong-Makati Bridge to destination

Route 2

• From EDSA, turn right at Panay Ave./Mother Ignacia Ave./Eugenio Lopez Jr. Drive/Sct. Borromeo
• left at Sct. Ybardolaza/Scout Torillo/Scout T. Morato/Scout Tuazon or Sct. Tobias
• right at E. Rodriguez
• follow the Mabuhay lane route 1 to destinations

Meanwhile, motorists on the east side of EDSA going southbound may use any of the following routes:

Route 1

• From East Ave, left at V. Luna Ave.
• right at Maliksi St.
• straight to K-H St., Cambridge
• right at New York Ave.
• left at Imperial
• straight to Gen. Aguinaldo Ave.
• right at P. Tuazon Ave., then exit to EDSA
• or straight to 8th Ave. to Col. Bonny Serrano, left towards C.P. Garcia Ave. (C5) or right towards EDSA to destination

Route 2

• From Kamias Road, right at K-H St., Cambridge
• right at New York Ave.
• left at Imperial
• straight to Gen. Aguinaldo Ave.
• right at P. Tuazon Ave. then exit to EDSA
• or straight to 8th Ave. to Col. Bonny Serrano, left towards C.P. Garcia Ave. (C5), or right towards EDSA to destination

Route 3

From Quezon Memorial Circle:

a)

• right at Kalayaan Ave.
• straight to K-J St.
• straight to Miami St.
• exit at Aurora Blvd.
• left at Gen. Aguinaldo Ave.
• right at P. Tuazon Ave. then exit to EDSA
• or straight to 8th Ave. to Col. Bonny Serrano, left towards C.P. Garcia Ave. (C5), or right towards EDSA to destination

b)

• from Kalayaan Ave./K-J St., right at Ermin Garcia Ave.
• left at 15th Ave.
• pass through Aurora Blvd./P. Tuazon Blvd./Main Ave. to Col. Bonny Serrano Ave.
• left towards C.P. Garcia (C5) or right towards EDSA to destination

c)

• from Kalayaan Ave., left at Matino St.
• straight towards Anonas Ext./Anonas
• right at Aurora Blvd.
• left at 20th Ave. to P. Tuazon Blvd./Col. Bonny Serrano Ave.
• left towards C.P. Garcia Ave. (C5) or right towards EDSA to destination

The MMDA announced on April 22 the closure of the EDSA-Kamuning flyover - southbound lanes starting May 1 to October 25 to undergo repair.

Only EDSA Carousel buses will be allowed to use the southbound lanes of the said flyover.
