DOTr: Traffic slowdown from May 10-12 due to tunnel boring machine transport


The Department of Transportation has advised the public to expect traffic slowdown on some roads in Metro Manila due to the transportation of the Metro Manila Subway Project’s (MMSP) Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) from Port Area in Manila to Camp Aguinaldo Station in Quezon City from Friday to Sunday.

In an advisory, the DOTr said motorists should avoid the following affected roads and take alternate routes from May 10 to May 11, 2024 (10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.) and May 11 to May 12, 2024 (10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.)

  • Port/ R-10 (between 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.)
  • C3 Road (between 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.)
  • 5th Avenue (between 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.)
  • G. Araneta Avenue (between 12:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.)
  • E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue (between 1:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.)
  • Gilmore Avenue (between 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.)
  • Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue (between 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.)

The DOTr said TBM will be used in the construction of the tunnels that shall connect MMSP’s Camp Aguinaldo and Ortigas Stations.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
