Quezon City issues traffic advisory for Nov. 30 Trillion Peso March

Quezon City issues traffic advisory for Nov. 30 Trillion Peso March

The Quezon City government has released a traffic advisory for motorists and commuters ahead of the Trillion Peso March protest action against corruption scheduled on Sunday, November 30.

In a social media post on Friday evening, city authorities warned motorists to expect slower traffic near the People Power Monument—the convergence point for the protest marchers—as early as 8 a.m.

Roads expected to be affected include:

  • EDSA
  • Katipunan Avenue
  • Ortigas Avenue
  • White Plains Avenue
  • Temple Drive

To alleviate the traffic buildup, authorities will set up a zipper lane along White Plains Avenue between EDSA and Katipunan Avenue starting 9 a.m. of Saturday, November 29, until 6 a.m. of Sunday, November 30.

On the day of rally, White Plains Avenue will be closed to traffic starting 6 a.m.

"Pinapayuhan ang mga motorista na dumaan sa mga alternatibong ruta (Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes)," the MMDA said.

According to organizers of the Trillion Peso March, some 120,000 people are expected to participate in the protest action against corruption in government amid the multi-billion peso flood control scandal.

The program is scheduled to start at 6 a.m., highlighted by a concert at 6 p.m. with celebrities and guest performers including Catriona Gray, Elijah Canlas, Ben&Ben, and MAKI.

Based on the traffic map provided by the MMDA, the stage will be set up at White Plains Avenue near EDSA.

Drop off points have been designated near the People Power Monument on the EDSA side, and at the other end of White Plains Avenue at the corners of Katipunan Avenue and Temple Drive.

Parking areas were listed in the following areas:

  • Temple Drive up to Giraffe Street (light vehicles)
  • Bonny Serrano Avenue East Bound - One-side parking (bus parking)
  • 18th and 20th Avenue (buses and light vehicles parking)
  • Along EDSA from People Power Monument up to GHQ-Gate 3 (friendly forces parking)
