Concessionary beep ™ card issuance to pause from Dec. 22 to Jan. 4, 2026
There will be a suspension in the issuance of concessionary beep ™ cards in train stations from Dec. 22, 2025 to Jan. 4, 2026 to give way to a system maintenance.
Beep ™ made the announcement in a post on its Facebook page on Sunday.
“To allow for system maintenance and upkeep during the year-end holiday season, the Concessionary Card Issuance Program (CCIP) will temporarily suspend its operations on all stations of LRT (Light Rail Transit) 1, LRT 2, and MRT (Metro Rail Transit) 3 during this period,” it said.
It added: “We will resume beep™ card issuance at the stations by Monday, January 5, 2026.”
Beep ™ went on: “We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we work to ensure improved service moving forward.”
The CCIP automatically grants a 50% discount to CCIP beep ™ card patrons such as senior citizens, students, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) on their train fare through a “tap-in, tap-out” mechanism.
CCIP cards are valid from four years from the date of issuance. Students need to renew their cards’ validity for every new school year that they are still enrolled in school.
Eligible patrons must present a valid ID and pay a one-time fee of P30 to avail of the CCIP beep ™ card. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
