Veterans can ride for free at MRT-3 from April 6 to 11, 2026

The Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) will offer free rides to veterans from April 6 to 11, 2026 in celebration of the 84th anniversary of the Day of Valor (Araw ng Kagitingan) and the Philippine Veterans Week. 

“Ang inisyatibong ito ay pagkilala sa sakripisyo at kabayanihan ng ating mga beterano para sa kalayaan ng bansa,” the MRT-3 said in an advisory. 

(This initiative is to recognize the sacrifice and heroism of our veterans for the country’s freedom.) 

The free rides will be available throughout the MRT-3’s operating hours during this period. 

Veterans who wish to avail of the incentive must present their Veteran’s ID or any valid ID to station personnel, who will issue a single journey ticket. 

Veterans are also allowed to bring one aide or companion on their MRT-3 ride. 

The Day of Valor falls on Thursday, April 9 and is a regular holiday. — JMA, GMA News
